The UK’s largest Youth Drama Festival is coming to The Carriageworks Theatre again this year from 13th – 15th November.

The Shakespeare Schools Festival works in partnership with the National Theatre to help 700 schools from across the UK to stage abridged Shakespeare productions in their local professional theatre.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate an evening’s professional entertainment with four youthful half-hour productions of different Shakespeare plays performed by schools in the local community.

“For the first time in their lives every one of these pupils has faced a challenge without running away. The change in them individually, and collectively, has been astounding.” - participating teacher, 2011

“What a fantastic organisation...it was truly inspiring to see local children engaging with Shakespeare and clearly benefiting from the experience” - parent of participating student, 2011

Details of participating schools and their performance day can be obtained from the Box Office.
